Residents

Many of the residents, although many came from the Southern states, each went separate ways after they dwelt in Shirts' Camp and Smith's Camp.

Levi Bracken married Allen Mathews and Sarah Ann Clark together. They left with the Uriah Curtis Company in 1852 for the Valley.

Charles W. Smith married Margaret Stephens at Smith's Camp which was performed by Isaac Allred. Charles and Margaret didn't leave for Utah and instead in the 1856 Census they are listed as living in Boyer, Harrison County, Iowa. They are both buried in Bigler's Grove Cemetery which is north of Smith's Camp.

Mitchell Stevens and Arta Emeline Mangum were married by Isaac Allred. Arta had been widowed and had a small child of 2 years old when they got married. Although there is no record of them traveling to Utah, it is recorded that Mitchell Stephens was baptized and confirmed a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on January 26, 1877 at Beaver, Beaver, Utah, by E. C. Brand.

Hezekiah Stevens was married to Catherine Niswanger by Isaac Allred. They left for the west sometime after 1856 and according to the 1860 Census they lived in San Salvador, San Bernardino, California. Then in 1870 they lived in Crescent, Iowa.

William Francis Smith (born 1781). His family was living in Dwelling #1187 on the 1850 U. S. Census in Pottawattamie County, Iowa. His son was Charles Washington Smith (born 1820).
