Jacob and Barbara were married in about 1832. They had one child, Henry W., who was born in Stark County, Ohio. They moved to an area northeast of Plum Hollow in Dutch Hollow which became known as Clapperville. They built a humble house where they spent the remainder of their days.

Christian Clapper and Jacob Clapper were brothers. Christian married Catherine Miller in 1828. She died in Mills County in 1848. He then married Margaret Smith. She was the widow of Jacob Ettleman, Sr. Christian married a third time to Susan Ettleman in 1856 while living in Box Elder County, Utah. Susan was the daughter of Jacob Frederick Ettleman and Margaret Smith.

These are the children of Jacob Frederick Ettleman and Margaret Smith. Jacob died in 1843 probably in Nauvoo, Hancock County, Illinois.

Henry C. Clapper married Sara Ann Ettleman and they had two daughters while living in Mills County. In 1853, he left for the Salt Lake Valley with the Henry Ettleman Company.
They resided, along with other families, in Box Elder County, Utah. Two sons were born there. By 1860, the family had moved back to Fremont County and Clapperville where their remaining children were born. In the 1860’s, he started west to seek his fortune in the gold mines of Idaho. He became part-owner in The Hell’s Gate Avalanche Ditch Company. The mine had piped water so that it could be used in washing down banks in search of precious metal. There he met his death in a violent manner in 1873.

Henry married in 1856 to Margaret Emma Forney, the daughter of George Forney and Catherine Study. He was a farmer and lived on a farm most of his life. Henry was a fine violinist. Both are buried in the Thurman Cemetery.
